Accelerating green growth for sustainable and inclusive development
GreenBuddie Gombe is a green development initiative created to activate statewide eco-citizens to accelerate community-based low-carbon impact investment programs that profit the people and the planet.
This initiative is designed to deploy real-time intergenerational green growth mechanisms that drive net-zero, climate-positive opportunities through people-centric, market-driven eco-policy impact platforms to guarantee the first bankable circular economy and fiscal efficiency strategy for sustainable development in Gombe State.
GreenBuddie Gombe prioritizes and amplifies citizen-driven climate action as the most scalable approach to ensuring low-carbon, resource-efficient, and socially inclusive economies.
The program prioritizes the health of the planet and the people, regarding these as interlinked. It highlights that the green economy is connected with the circular economy, encouraging a shift to reduce consumption of natural resources to sustainable levels. An inclusive economy incorporates and embraces modern models of economic development whose objective is to create prosperity within planetary boundaries.
GreenBuddie Gombe focuses on three major aspects of green economy development: environmental responsiveness, resource efficiency, and community and cultural sensitivity.
- Environmental responsiveness involves respecting the intrinsic value of nature and minimizing damage to the ecosystem.
- Resource efficiency involves the use of fewer resources to conserve energy and the environment.
- Community and Cultural Sensitivity involve recognizing and accepting the unique cultural values that each community contributes towards development.
GreenBuddie Gombe is a Green4Ward initiative powered by a social action sustainable impact mobility marketplace strategy that engages, educates, empowers, and employs over 130,000 young, resourceful eco-citizens across 13 LCDAs with Eco-Marshall jobs.
It incentivizes 1.3 million eco-volunteers, awards 13,000 eco-innovation grants, launches 13 eco-tourism and heritage festivals, and secures rural energy efficiency solutions through sustainability investment partnerships that promote climate justice, ensure climate finance, and support ecosystem conservation in Gombe State.
